Sounds of Soul : Poem : Series 7 -
MATTERED THEN NOT ANYMORE

I was given false hopes.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Believing people will turn iffy.

I was fancied fake promises.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Trusting promises will be improbable.

I was poorly disappointed.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Expectations will be, an outside chance.

I was hardly saddened.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Happiness will not be searched, beyond me.

I was yelled to.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Staying out of everything, will be elite.

I was used abundantly,
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Availability, will be only for me.

I was let down repeatedly,
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Getting up, will be the only option.

I was cleverly cheated.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Letting people close, will be a fat chance.

I was terribly broken.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Building an empire, will be the foremost duty.

I was provoked guilt.
Mattered then, not anymore!
I promise myself,
Forgiveness will be the door, for a new life.
